It can be difficult to lose yourself in a book when your mind is elsewhere, and spending your hard-earned money on a new novel that turns out to be boring is far from ideal, but then there are those books that can keep you up all night because you are completely lost in the story. You’ve lost all sense of time and don’t realize it’s suddenly 4 a.m. But, with only 30 more pages to go, why stop now?
The best page-turners are worth the sleep deprivation. Just remind yourself that you’re not going to be able to sleep anywag. You’ll just lay in bed, your mind racing with ideas. You have to know what happens next.
I’ve read a lot of books that are difficult to put down. Many times, I’ve stayed up far too late reading an engrossing book. It’s almost as if the author has cast a spell on me. I can’t take my gaze away. I’ll never forget when I was reading Morgan Rice’s Sorcerer’s Ring.
The mere existence of these books that you can’t put down teaches you that they must be really good books. The author has completed his task. He has completely engrossed you in these characters and their story.

Whether you like it or not, The Girl on the Train is one of those books that you can’t put down no matter what.
This was John Grisham’s second novel, and it was the one that made his name and sold so many copies that we couldn’t count. You can’t simply put it down until you’re finished with it.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon has a time-traveling protagonist, a gripping love story, and fantastic historical settings. This trip spans millennia, but you might be able to finish it in a few of sittings.
In a fascinating romance of passion and history that mixes exhilarating adventure with a love story for the ages, Diana introduced two amazing characters, Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser.
This one would undoubtedly shackle you.
5. The time traveller’s wife by Audrey Niffeneger
This wonderful, enchanting tale tells the story of Clare and Henry, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and who married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry was thirty. There was very little expectations for this Swedish thriller, you would be surprised when the entire series turnes out to be a book you won’t be able to put down. Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is hired by Henrick Verger to investigates the disappearance of Harriet Vanger, the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden. He pairs up with Lisbeth Slander, a pierced and tattooed hacker who had a troubling past that has left her with a capacity for ruthlessness. It is a exhilarating and thrilling read, but, be cautioned, there is quite a lot of violence and language.
